Part-time Administrative Assistant, Student Access Programs and Services

Job Opening

SREB is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to work with Student Access Programs and Services area who is professional and a team player. This is a part-time position up to 20 hours a week, with flexible hours between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The rate of pay is $15 per hour.

Duties

  • Maintain existing spreadsheets of regional contract students, higher education presidents and coordinators who participate in the Electronic Campus
  • Update and maintain contact spreadsheets
  • Review, edit and activate courses and programs for the Electronic Campus
  • Assist with website searches
  • Respond to Academic Common Market phone calls
  • Organize and maintain publication materials used in meetings and mailings
  • Assists in scheduling conferences and meetings
  • Proofread and edit materials 
  • Correspond with state and institutional coordinators about course entries, approvals and edits to activate course, program and approval process
  • Perform other general administrative duties, such as answering phones, making copies and filing
  • Assist other SREB administrative staff members with meeting preparation and functions (switchboard relief, large mailings) and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word (merging of letters, labels)
  • Ability to gain knowledge of general office procedures and administrative duties, such as handling correspondence and mailings, taking messages and operating office machines
  • Must be a self-starter and team player
  • Telephone and email etiquette knowledge is critical
