A Perspective -

Educational Goals and Changes

1988-2010

By Rick Edmonds

Author Rick Edmonds provides a perspective on progress in the SREB states from 1988 when SREB developed 12 goals to reach by the year 2000. Growth in population and school enrollment trends are highlighted – what was expected and the huge population and job growth that occurred. Looking ahead to 2010, projected job growth shows jobs requiring college degrees outpacing others. Mr. Edmonds concludes with 10 ideas about thinking differently for the 2000s.
