SREB Teacher Supply and Demand

Nine states (Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia) participated in an effort with core funding from the U.S. Department of Education to produce teacher supply and demand information and projections for states in the early 1990's. Data on the "pipeline" of students in colleges and universities who become employed as teachers were the basis for the studies. Most recent studies show regional supplies of teachers within a state and shortages that are specific to geographical areas within a state or specific subject area. Most recent studies in Tennessee and Oklahoma are available:
