Wachovia Foundation Teachers and Teaching Initiative:
The District Leadership Academy Project

SREB is funded by the Wachovia Foundation Teachers and Teaching Initiative to create and operate the District Leadership Academy Project. The goals of this project are to improve student achievement and school and classroom practices, so schools meet all requirements for adequate yearly progress; and to engage districts and states to work together in developing ongoing leadership-team institutes.

The District Leadership Academy Project works with selected urban and rural school districts in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina to create leadership academies that will engage such teams of school and district leaders and teacher leaders.
