Electronic Campus of Virginia

Description

The Electronic Campus of Virginia is an instructional-technology initiative among the state’s public and private colleges and universities. It is designed to provide “one-stop” access to instruction available in a distance learning format. The Electronic Campus of Virginia offers credit and noncredit courses and programs at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels as well as continuing-education offerings designed for working adults.

Virtual Library of Virginia

Description

VIVA is designed to more effectively utilize the resources of the state’s colleges and universities through the use of information technology. Regional electronic-resource centers cooperatively purchase, develop and store databases and provide training. The Virtual Library of Virginia includes the 39 state-supported institutions of higher education and 28 independent colleges and universities. The Virginia Academic Consortium, another component of the Virtual Library of Virginia, supports sharing of libraries’ traditional materials (not in electronic formats).
