2008 SREB Annual Meeting

The 2008 SREB Annual Meeting is scheduled for June 29-July 1 in Boca Raton, Florida. The Annual Meeting brings together members of the Board and Legislative Advisory Council from all 16 SREB member states to discuss issues and actions for educational improvement across the region.

2007 Annual Meeting

SREB held its 2007 Annual Meeting in June at Amelia Island, Florida. Board Members converged for the 59th consecutive year to discuss some of the region's most pressing issues. Speakers included SREB President Dave Spence, Council of Chief State School Officers Executive Director Gene Wilhoit, State University System of Florida Chancellor Mark Rosenberg, and SREB Senior Vice Presidents Gene Bottoms and Lynn Cornett. Delaware Secretary of Education Valerie A. Woodruff, the SREB Board Vice Chair, presided.

2006 Annual Meeting

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue was elected chair of the Southern Regional Education Board at the 2006 Annual Meeting, held in Atlanta in June 2006. He succeeds Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, who was recognized for her service as SREB chair since 2004.
