Student Access Programs and Services encompasses several programs that focus on increasing college access and graduation rates. The shared mission of these programs is simple:

To help college students of all ages take courses and earn degrees — no matter where they live and work.

The Academic Common Market enables college students from one SREB state to pursue uncommon degrees in another SREB state at in-state tuition rates.

The Regional Contract Program gives students in SREB states the opportunity to earn a professional health degree from selected programs at public institutions — at in-state tuition rates — or pay reduced tuition at private institutions.

The Electronic Campus, the South's "electronic marketplace" of online courses, programs and services, provides easy access to over 30,000 online courses and more than 900 online degree programs from colleges and universities in all 16 SREB states. Traditional students can access college and university information from all SREB states, take virtual college tours, learn about financial aid opportunities and even apply online through the Electronic Campus. The Electronic Campus follows SREB's Principles of Good Practice for online courses in higher education.

TheTeacherCenter.org, designed by educators for educators, helps K-12 teachers, administrators and support staff learn about and meet state requirements, pursue online courses to meet certification requirements, and review their graduate degree options.

The Academic Common Market/Electronic Campus program combines the benefits of in-state tuition in the Academic Common Market with the convenience of online learning in the Electronic Campus.

The Nurse Educator Consortium (in cooperation with SREB's Council on Collegiate Education for Nursing) provides online courses to help graduate students in nursing prepare for a teaching career at colleges and universities.

Through the Distance Learning Policy Laboratory, SREB assists states with distance learning projects and outreach to students. SREB also brings together states' education agencies to share ideas and marketing activities through the Go Alliance.

To support adult learning, SREB works with states to further outreach to adults who need to complete high school diplomas, GED credentials, and college degrees or career certificates. Current projects include the CALL initiative with the Louisiana Board of Regents, which has brought hundreds of adults students back to college to work toward completing their degrees.
