Vice President, Educator Effectiveness
Andy Baxter joined the Southern Regional Education Board in 2012 as vice president of educator effectiveness, where he brings more than 10 years of experience working on issues of education policy and practice in the public education sector. Andy and the educator effectiveness team assist states with the development and implementation of feedback systems to support effective teaching. He travels throughout the SREB region to meet with teachers, principals, state education agency staff and legislators to learn and share information about what is and is not working in educator effectiveness. Prior to joining SREB, Andy served as director of human capital strategies and Harvard strategic data fellow for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Andy holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and M.Div. and A.B. degrees from Duke University.
