Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery

The K-20 educational technology community has an increasingly significant impact on every aspect of teaching and learning.  Recent events have underscored the fact that the SREB Educational Technology Cooperative states should be actively aware and involved in the statewide disaster preparation, response, and recovery processes. This knowledge base, active vocabulary and proactive mindset must be applied to prevention, protection, response and recovery relative to any natural or man-made emergency event. This Web site provides SREB state education agencies, schools and colleges with vital information about:

• What do state education agencies, schools and colleges need to consider in addressing disaster preparedness?

• Where can I go to obtain information about state and national plans for disaster preparedness/response/recovery?

• Who are key agencies and contact persons in each state in the event of an emergency?
