Educational Technology Cooperative

Open Source

Nearing its 10th anniversary, Open Source has found great support across the board in the field of education. Users find great benefit with the lower costs, relaxed intellectual property restrictions, ability to modify product and the collaborative efforts that promote sharing within the Open Source community.

There are several Open Source initiatives taking place in SREB states, with more in the planning stages. As Open Source becomes more widely used in SREB states, the Educational Technology Cooperative will provide up-to-date information and resources to our members.
