| Program Description |
The semester-long program prepares
participants to facilitate online courses and establish a local online
learning program. A catalogue of online curriculum workshops that
focuses on specific K-12 subject areas and grade levels (reading, math,
science, social studies and technology) that are available for use in
local online professional development programs is at the Web Site.
Courses include an online ETLO forum to provide continuing support to
the participants during the development and running of online courses,
including rapid responses to any questions for a full year beyond the
course. As part of facilitator training, each participant delivers one
EDC curriculum course. They also offer training to develop online
courses with facilitation by course developers. Content can be licensed.
Courses are research-based, and content is aligned with state standards.

| Program Description |
The Web site states: “CSE is offering
online institutes to meet the needs of practicing teachers. The
institutes focus on building a community of learners around specific
topics through teacher-to-teacher interaction. Emphasis is placed on
ideas and teaching strategies that are directly applicable in the
classroom. The institutes are asynchronous, allowing teachers to
participate at individually selected times and places. Participating
fully in the course requires 30 hours in 6 sessions over 8-10 weeks. The
number of hours meets most state requirements for professional credits.
Offerings include alternative assessment (middle school) and strategies
that promote inquiry thinking (high school). Teachers can also earn
graduate credit.” |
