The nation and all 16 SREB member states face an acute shortage of nurses
that is expected to grow as the population ages and health care needs expand.
To help meet this demand, the SREB Council on Collegiate Education for Nursing
has become a leader in cooperative planning and activities that strengthen
nursing education in colleges and universities in the South. The council serves as a regional resource center for nursing education in Alabama, Arkansas,
Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North
Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia
and the District of Columbia.
