Teaching All Children to Read
By David R. Denton
Teaching All Children to Read identifies six elements that are central
to any comprehensive effort to improve students reading performance: early
assessment; improved classroom teaching; early intervention; intervention for
older students with reading problems; improved reading instruction in teacher
education programs; and more effective professional development. This report
briefly describes the approaches some states have taken to dealing with these
issues.
