Dr. Nicole Cobb is a professor in the College of Education at Vanderbilt University.  Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, she served as Executive Director of School Counseling for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.  She has worked in education for 25 years as a teacher, school counselor and administrator.  Her research and field-facing work examines how schools structure student support systems including MTSS, SEL, restorative practices, and small-learning community frameworks.

She also aids schools in creating and implementing crisis response efforts. She holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Tennessee.  She sits on multiple advisory boards, provides consultation to school districts, foundations and universities, and engages in research projects that widen access to educational and student support programming.

She is the immediate past president of the Tennessee Counseling Association and vice president of the Association of Career and Technical Education’s Counseling and Career Development division. She also serves on Governor Bill Lee’s Special Appointed Council for Career and Technical Education.  

In her downtime, Nicole can be found running a trail in the park, teaching yoga, reading by the fire or traveling the world in search of a good adventure.
