Position Description

SREB seeks a candidate with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, shift to new projects quickly, and work on multiple ongoing assignments throughout the work week.  These assignments will include: a) preparing letters from tape transcription; b) conducting online searches of school data and preparing school profile data reports using SPSS software to analyze data and prepare appropriate tables; c) preparing and editing letters and reports; and d) managing projects as assigned. This is an entry-level professional position with considerable responsibility as an integral part of the school improvement team. SREB is looking for a self-directed candidate with capacity for self-improvement and advancement.

Responsibilities

The selected individual will:

  • conduct online research related to college and career readiness;
  • interact with the team of SREB staff, consultants, as well as external school staff and state-level officials in a comfortable but professional manner;
  • coordinates training dates and schedules with contracting schools and districts and SREB’s cadre of consultants;
  • provide administrative support to field consultants
  • research relevant data and information, prepare written reports, memos, correspondence and publications and/or assist in editing content for these documents;
  • respond in a timely manner to requests from multiple staff on the project, including meeting preparation, data collection and analysis, needs of external constituents, etc.;
  • continually update and maintain information on a variety of topics;
  • assist when needed with national workshops, summer conference registrations and teacher training meetings on the readiness courses;
  • gather and analyze information to prepare data profile reports on schools;
  • enter data into the SREB Customer Relations Management system;
  • process letters of agreement and other administrative correspondence;
  • gather and distribute mailings, up to 20 pounds;
  • transcribe tapes and produce related products that are correct; and
  • perform other duties as assigned;
  • Some travel may be required.
Applicant Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience in an educational environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner with high accuracy
  • Experience in conducting web-based research and preparing data and narrative reports
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and internet
