DSP graduates making waves in the academy


Edward A. Brown accepted a full-time position with Potomac State College in West Virginia as an activities program manager with the student life division. Dr. Edward A. Brown

Dr. Brown plans and implements social and educational activities students and creates opportunities for student involvement at the college. He also oversees Student Union operations, works with student organizations and serves as advisor to the Student Government Association. 

Betina Cutaia Wilkinson earned a Best Award for Inter-Race Relations in the United States from the American Political Science Association for her book Partners or Rivals? Power and Latino, Black and White Relations in the Twenty-First Century.

T. Elon Dancy was promoted to professor in the department of educational leadership and policy studies at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Dancy was also named associate dean for community engagement and academic inclusion in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma.  

Lorrie Frasure-Yokley earned a Best Book Award for Race Relations in the United States from the American Political Science Association for her book Racial and Ethnic Politics in American Suburbs.

Tomar Ghansah was promoted to associate professor at Morsani College of Medicine in the department of molecular medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

T. Ramon Stuart was appointed to provost at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. “I look forward to working collaboratively with various constituents throughout the university as we work diligently to achieve the mission of the institution,” Dr. Stuart said.

Luria Young was promoted to vice provost for academic affairs at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
