Notice About the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Post

Here at the Southern Regional Education Board, we are watching the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak with concern for the safety of our 2020 Making Schools Work Conference attendees.

We are monitoring the advice being given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

For the most current information about the disease and its prevention, please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

At this time, the Making Schools Work Conference is still scheduled to continue as planned, July 7-10, 2020. We encourage attendees to take advantage of our early-bird registration discounts through May 1, 2020 (deadline extended). However, please be assured that should CDC or local, state or organizational travel restrictions require attendees to cancel their registrations, SREB will refund your registration fees in full.

If circumstances allow the conference to be offered as planned, we will continue to work with our conference service providers and venues, including official conference hotels and the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, to monitor the situation and take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. We are also investigating electronic/virtual participation options.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as this difficult situation evolves. Please watch this page for updates on current conditions and look for updates from conference organizers via email.
