Industry Tours

Explore the connections between your classroom and the workplace during an optional industry tour of the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s golf maintenance, engineering, IT/AV and culinary operations. The cost is $35, payable during registration. Lunch is included.

Tours will kick off with a presentation from Sandestin’s Human Capital and Marketing Teams. Tour strands include:

Lights! Camera! ACTION! Join us for a behind the scenes look from Sandestin’s Audio Visual Department. This tour will offer a look at a day in the life of a hospitality AV professional. Attendees will meet Sandestin’s director of AV and learn how the resort hires ideal candidates and how students can start a lifelong career in AV.

FORE! Meet Sandestin’s Golf Maintenance team. These professionals manage 72 championship golf holes found on property at Sandestin’s four golf courses. Attendees will also get to see a few pieces of equipment used to manage the courses as team members cut 16 acres of greensevery day!

Have room for dessert? Meet with Sandestin’s Culinary team in a back-of-the-house experience in our remote Baytowne Conference Center Kitchen. The culinary team at Sandestin is responsible for all meal functions in Sandestin’s 64,000 square feet of conference space as well as supporting all of Sandestin’s Clubs and Food and Beverage outlets.

Construction Zone! Bring your hardhat and come meet Sandestin’s Engineering Team! This department is responsible for maintaining over 1,250 nightly overnight accommodations as well as all Sandestin buildings, outlets and public areas. Under the large crane in the sky, attendees will see Sandestin’s Engineering Team playing a role in the construction of Sandestin’s newest signature venue, the Sandestin Hotel and Conference Center, opening April 2020, directly next to the Baytowne Conference Center.
