Tim Shaughnessy joined the Southern Regional Education Board in 2015 as a special consultant for career pathways. Tim brings years of experience as a former community college leader, former state legislator and retired healthcare executive. In his role at SREB, he works with the school improvement team to strengthen career and technical education pathways and to identify the critical success factors necessary for states’ implementation of an effective, efficient and sustainable career pathways model. Prior to SREB, Tim served as an associate provost for academic affairs at Gateway Community and Technical College in Florence Kentucky. He is a former executive with Jewish Hospital and Saint Mary’s HealthCare and served 24 years in the Kentucky Senate. Tim attended Jefferson Community College and graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.S. in Policy Analysis. He earned an MBA from Bellarmine University, an Ed.D. in Leadership Education from Spalding University and a graduate certificate in college teaching and learning from the University of Kentucky.
