Kevin Armstrong is in his 30th year of K-12 education and his 15th year serving as the principal of DuPont Hadley Middle School. He was named building-level MNPS Teacher of the Year in 2004 and MNPS Middle School Principal of the Year in 2017. In April 2017, he was selected as the 2017 Middle Level National Distinguished Principal for the state of Tennessee by the Tennessee Principals’ Association.

After several years as a NAESP Board member and NAESP Fellow, Armstrong was elected NAESP Vice President in March 2022 during a nationwide election. Always focused on children, his school was again named a Level 5 School in September 2023, ranking 9th in combined literacy and math growth out of all elementary and middle schools in the state of Tennessee. Most recently, Armstrong served a one-year term as president of the National Association of Elementary School Principals in 2024-2025.
