While our conference is an event that works because of the efforts of our whole team, there are a few individuals that work all year long to make it happen.

Conference Planning and Leadership

Dale Winkler SREB’s interim president as well as senior vice president and vice president of school improvement, provides executive leadership for the Making Schools Work Conference. From setting strategy to supporting key program and operations decisions, he helps ensure the event runs smoothly and makes a lasting impact on educators and students alike.

 

Aimee Wyatt

Aimee Wyatt, SREB’s director of leadership and professional learning, provides strategic direction for the Making Schools Work Conference. From shaping the program to approving venues and speakers, she ensures every aspect reflects SREB’s mission and delivers an outstanding experience for attendees.

 

Nakeisha Myers

Nakeisha Myers, SREB’s meeting and events manager, turns the conference vision into reality. From coordinating venues and vendor logistics to working with speakers and onsite operations, she ensures every detail comes together to create a seamless, high-quality experience for attendees.

 

Rebecca Holt

Rebecca Holt, SREB’s research associate, manages the registration site for the Making Schools Work Conference and runs the on-site help desk. From supporting attendees before the event to assisting them in person, she ensures a smooth registration process and a welcoming conference experience.

 

Learning Community Leaders

Our learning communities are new to the 2026 conference. These additional conference options will help you better connect and network with attendees in similar roles to yours while allowing you to more easily target some of your sessions to your focus areas. 

Each of the three learning communities will be led by an SREB leader. 

Jason Adair: Coaching That Works

Jason Adair, SREB’s director of curriculum and instruction, has also spent the last few years running SREB’s Coaching for Change Conference. This conference will now be rolled into the Making Schools Work Conference as the Coaching That Works Learning Community, and Adair will continue to lead it with the same expertise as always. 

 

Aimee Wyatt: Leadership That Works

Along with running the conference, Aimee will also be in charge of the Leadership That Works Learning Community that will begin at the 2026 conference in Nashville.

 

 

Linda Floyd: Technology Centers That Work

Linda Floyd, SREB’s director of state and district partnerships, started at SREB as the director of Technology Centers That Work. This makes her the perfect person to run our new Technology Centers That Work Learning Community. 

 

School Improvement Team

While all of the people above work on the day-to-day operations and leadership roles surrounding the conference, it truly is a full team effort. Every school improvement team member works to make the conference happen, from presenting to greeting attendees and assisting them in whatever way they need.
