SREB is seeking 40 school counselors in each SREB state to serve on the SREB Crisis Recovery Network. Network members receive specialized training in crisis response and recovery, building capacity within their own school, district or institution, as well as enabling them to support other schools within their state or within the SREB region in times of catastrophic crisis. 

We’ve trained 444 crisis support counselors in 14 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.

Network members need a combination of education, experience and specialized training in crisis intervention and recovery, and must be recommended by their superintendent.
