The Honorable Brian Pettyjohn
State Senator, Delaware General Assembly – District 19

State Senator Brian Pettyjohn of Georgetown proudly represents
Delaware’s 19th Senatorial District and has since
2012. In the 153rd General Assembly Senator
Brian Pettyjohn’s committee assignment includes the Banking,
Business, Insurance & Technology; Corrections & Public Safety;
Environment, Energy & Transportation; Executive; Judiciary;
Legislative Council; Legislative Oversight & Sunset; Rules &
Ethics; Veterans Affairs.
In addition, Senator Pettyjohn was elected by his caucus as the
Republican Whip, a member of the Republican Leadership team in
the General Assembly. He has also been named to several
other legislatively created committees including the Law
Enforcement Accountability Task Force (2022), Lottery & Gaming
Study Commission (2013), the Undocumented Driver Task Force
(2015), the Delaware Education Compensation Committee
(2022-2023), and the Financial Literacy Task Force (2015).
Senator Pettyjohn has also been named to the Southern Region
Education Board Legislative Advisory Council, National Conference
of State Legislatures Policy Board, and numerous other boards and
committees. In 2022, Senator Pettyjohn was named as
co-chair of the Council of State Government – Eastern Regional
Conference (CSG-ERC) Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee and
was named a 2022-2023 Fellow to the National Conference of State
Legislatures (NCSL) Pretrial Policy program. Senator
Pettyjohn is also a member of the Delaware Economic and Financial
Advisory Council (DEFAC), which is charged with making the formal
projections for Delaware’s revenue on which the state’s budget is
based.
Prior to his current seat in the Delaware State Senate, Senator
Pettyjohn served as councilman of Georgetown from 2008-2010 and
Mayor from 2010-2012.
Continuing in his commitment to his community, Senator Brian
Pettyjohn serves on several organizations including the Sussex
County STEM Alliance, Sussex Sports Center Foundation, the
Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and The Chad Spicer
Foundation.
The Honorable Eric D. Ebersole
State Delegate, Maryland General Assembly – District 44B

Eric Douglas Ebersole is a dedicated public servant and lifelong
educator currently serving as a Delegate in the Maryland General
Assembly, representing District 44B. From 2015 to 2023, he
proudly served the constituents of District 12. With a career
rooted in education and civic engagement, Ebersole brings over
three decades of experience as a mathematics educator and
community leader to his work in the legislature.
Born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville, Ebersole earned both
his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics education from the
University of Maryland, College Park. He went on to teach high
school mathematics in Howard County for more than 30 years. He
was also an adjunct instructor in mathematics education at the
University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Elected to the General Assembly in 2014, Ebersole was sworn in on
January 14, 2015. Since 2022, he has served as Deputy Majority
Whip. His legislative work focuses on education policy, child and
family welfare, and revenue management. He is a member of the
House Ways and Means Committee, where he currently chairs the
Early Childhood Subcommittee. He has also served on the Joint
Committee on Children, Youth, and Families and previously chaired
the Howard County Delegation.
He lives in Catonsville with his wife and is the proud father of
three children. He continues to be active in his local church and
community, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service,
education, and civic leadership.
