Profile

MJ Kim joined the Southern Regional Education Board in 2024 as an Analyst II in the Office of Postsecondary Education, bringing expertise in American higher education policies and research. She possesses extensive research experience in various topics, including the identity formation of immigrant youths, undergraduate engineering education and supporting parenting students in graduate programs. MJ employs a range of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods in her research. She holds a B.A. in international relations from Ewha Womans University, a master’s in educational psychology from the University of Virginia and will graduate with her Ph.D. from the University of Washington-Seattle in June 2024.
