SREB defines teacher induction as a comprehensive support system to help new teachers transition smoothly into their roles, adapt to their new environment and develop the skills to implement high-impact instructional practices and create a positive classroom culture. The ultimate goals: improved student outcomes, better teacher retention and stronger teacher self-efficacy, or belief in their ability to handle the challenges of the job.
