Experiential Learning To Enhance Diversity, Inclusion, And Equity: A College-Wide Initiative
February 13, 2020
2 – 3 PM EASTERN
As nursing practice adopts principles of greater equity,
inclusion, diversity and equality of care to promote health
outcomes, nurse educators are pushed to prepare their students
for transformative change: to develop attitudes, competencies and
practices that promote greater inclusion and equality, so as not
to perpetuate historical inequalities. The University of South
Carolina’s nursing program has embedded experiential learning
curriculum-wide to provide opportunities for nursing students to
encounter circumstances that could adversely affect patient
health outcomes and to play roles in ameliorating them.
