About the Journal of Education Practices and Trends
Editorial Board & Submission guidelines

The SREB Journal of Education Practices and Trends highlights research related to educational priorities in the South. Its objective is to encourage reflective dialogue and provide a place for scholars from schools, colleges, and states to share their research.

Article Submission Guidelines

The overall word count of the article does not have strict limits, but it is highly recommended that the article be written concisely and adheres to the following guidelines:
•    Title does not exceed 20 words and describes the main message of the article; 
•    Abstract does not exceed 100 words;
•    Article is written with awareness that the audience comes from a wide range of fields;
•    Length should not exceed 12 double-spaced pages (not including reference section) using 11 pt Calibri font and consists of no more than 4,500 words; 
•    Footnotes are not to be used in the article, but a reference page is required;
•    A link to a more scholarly, lengthy research paper or documents may be included; 
•    Article is to be submitted as a MS Word document; and
•    An accompanying PDF of the article may also be submitted but is not required.

No specific requirements exist for the main body of the article, but the article should be organized in a way that best suits the article’s research. The following structure is appropriate in most cases but not required:
•    Introduction
•    Background/Literature Review 
•    Methods
•    Results (with subheadings)
•    Conclusion/Discussion/Recommendations (without subheadings)
•    References (if possible, limit to 30 references) 

Article submissions are to be sent to SREBJournal@SREB.org for consideration. The email should provide a brief introduction of the article and its potential influence on public policy.
