The SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program offers two awards to students who are pursuing Ph.D.s and plan to become college and university professors. If you are eligible, you are invited to apply for one of these awards.
SREB’s 16 member states are: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. Most of these states participate in the SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program. The program is funded in part by participating states and participation depends upon university support. Only universities committed to the program’s goals sponsor doctoral scholars. In return, some participating states require that doctoral scholars teach in-state after completing their degrees.
What should I do if my university is not listed under a participating state?
If your university is a public state school that is not listed, please let us know. An oversight could have occurred for many reasons, or there could be a special circumstance.
