Thank you for your interest in applying for the SREB Doctoral Scholars Program Fellowship. Below you will find information that will help you in the application process. How to Apply
Please be advised that due to circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus, the application deadline for the SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program Fellowship has been extended to March 31, 2021. We understand the challenges that you may face as campuses around the nation adjust operations.
Application is only available online.
Participating States & Institutions
Most SREB member states participate in the Doctoral Scholars Program. Scholars are funded in part by these states. Only universities committed to the program’s goals sponsor doctoral scholars.
In addition, individual universities may fund scholars to participate in the SREB Doctoral Scholars Program.
Types of Awards
Application materials are now available The deadline to apply has been extended to 11:59 p.m. EST on March 31, 2021.
The SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program offers two awards to students who are pursuing Ph.D.s and plan to become college and university professors. If you are eligible, you are invited to apply for one of these awards.

What should I do if my university is not listed under a
participating state?
If your university is a public state school that is not listed,
please let us know. An oversight could have occurred for many
reasons, or there could be a special circumstance.
